Our clients in Hornsby Heights, NSW, are lovers of the great outdoors. Their weekends are filled with trips to the beach to bush walks in Sydney’s beautiful surrounds. Because of their passion for the outdoors, their dream was to have an area at home they could use to soak up the sun and enjoy their lush surrounds. The new hardwood deck our team designed and built has certainly achieved that!
Our custom designed and built elevated steel framed hardwood deck has given our client better use of their steep slopping backyard. We were surprised to come across a Sydney Water mains pipe that was incorrectly positioned on Sydney Water’s planning report. Fortunately, our quick thinking team came up with an alternative construction plan in conjunction with our Certifying Authority for the deck without interruption to the build timeline or compromising the design.
The framing consisted of steel posts, beams and joists to ensure this deck was structurally sound, eliminating any chance of warping, termite damage or rotting.
The decking used is Pergola Land’s signature concealed-fix system in 135mm merbau boards, creating a seamless continuation from the indoors to outdoors.
The balustrade features hardwood pickets and top rail. To complete the project, we added a privacy screen to provide privacy from the neighbours.
